Surprising Grandpa and Grandma is WICKED!

A few months ago my siblings and I all got together and decided to do something really great for Grandpa and Grandma (Rashelle's parents). We wanted to get them tickets to the play WICKED here in LA. We ended up getting them excellent seats but we wanted it to be a really huge surprise. So we told them a few months ago that Scott was getting a special award at work. It was really hard to keep it a secret...because a little bit of lying was involved (especially on my part). Scott thought it was hilarious watching my lie get bigger and bigger because I am a really bad liar.
On Thursday April 24th Scott, Izek, Maxwell, and I decked the house out in Hollywood decorations. We had balloons, streamers, silver-gold-and black hollywood decor, and we even had a red carpet rolled out for them. Grandpa and Grandma arrived still under the impression that they were going to an awards dinner for Scott. When they walked in they looked quite confused. They thought the decorations were for Scott. We had them sit on the couch and gave them some presents. We told them they were for Mother's Day, Father's Day and their birthdays. They still were confused and thought we were just giving them some presents early. After reading their cards they opened up their gift. Inside was the WICKED musical CD and the WICKED book. Still confused we told them we wrote something inside the flap of the book...when they opened it THE TICKETS fell out. They both were so shocked! It went exactly how we hoped it would have gone. They were both so excited and couldn't believe we had pulled off such an elaborate plan. We waited for the to get ready and then we took them out to dinner at the Elephant Bar. It was such a nice evening (except for the little bit of traffic they had on the way home - 45 min to go about 10 miles). I really appreciated all my siblings did to help out as well. We are so glad we could do something to show our love and appreciation for all they do. We love you Grandpa and Grandma!
On Friday the 25th, Dan and his family came down to spend the rest of the weekend with us! It was so much fun. It is always such a blast to spend time together and to watch the cousins play with each other. We missed Jarrod, Amber and the kids and especially Aunt Beth! It wasn't the same without you!
