A Little Catching Up-"Big Bear and Daddy Time"

Last weekend we decided to head to Big Bear for some family time. Scott had two weeks of vacation but we spent most of it with extended family (which of course is always fun) and then we had a lot of other things that kept us busy. With all of this we wanted a little family time. We had so much fun. We went to the Moonridge Animal Zoo which was really interesting. The two pictures below I think turned out so amazing. It is really sad though because this Zoo is more of a rehabilitation facility. The eagle in the picture is blind because someone shot at it for hunting purposes. The other picture I think just turned out really nice. We saw lots of beautiful animals. Izek especially loved the snakes and bugs (what a BOY!) and mom couldn't wait to get away from them! We walked around Big Bear Village. Mom enjoyed some pumpkin gelato ice cream (mmmm!) and Izek and Max enjoyed the candy shop. We wanted to go play in the snow but because it was so hot it was almost all melted. We walked along the lake and enjoyed all the beauty and quiet. We had planned on hitting the Alpine Slides and the Big Bear Discovery Center but because of all the FIRES we decided it would be best to head home because so many roads were closed! We sure had an amazing time and plan to do it again soon!

"Daddy Time"
One of the days Scott was on vacation he decided to spend the day with Izek. Izek was so excited to have a "special day with dad." Scott took him to SkyCity for the first time and had such a wonderful time! I couldn't believe it but they were there for "6 hours." Izek didn't want to leave. He did decide he wanted to have his Pirate Birthday Party here (he turns 3 the end of December). I think it is a great place to have a birthday party. Instead of a bunch of kids jumping and bouncing off my walls at home they can do it here - HAHA! I am so grateful that Izek and his dad could spend such a wonderful day together. I have this quote on my wall that says "
A Father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you are." This is so true...
